Dia de los Muertos Hand and Arrow print illustration – Serigraph Screen Print Silkscreen
This symbolically rich design celebrates the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. In Mexico death is viewed as the ultimate liberation. The skull and skeleton is venerated during Day of the Dead ceremonies.
The hand and arrow, commonly seen on old gravestones, represents immortality. The snake, or ouroboros, depicts cyclicality and the concept of Eternal Return. The mandorla is symbolic of the interaction between the material and spiritual worlds. As the all-seeing eye denotes perception and spiritual enlightenment.
PRINTS AND SHIRTS ARE AVAILABLE ON BOTH RED OR BLACK 80lb PAPER 12″x12″. Pick one up before they’re gone!

“El Diablito” Acrylic on birch wood, framed in maple.
This piece is inspired by the Mexican card game, Loteria. “El Diablito” is seen here conjuring the element of fire. He is wearing his stylish botas picudas which are quite en vogue in Mexico. Along side him his trusty sidekick, Inferno, who always has Diablito’s back.
El Diablito is avaible for purchase in my ETSY SHOP
My latest illustration, “Santa Lluvia” (that’s yoo-vee-uh) She’s the Patron Saint of Thunderstorms
I find myself captivated with the concept of the divine spirit in the human soul. I borrowed this idea and created animal saints. Having superhero-like qualities, these characters function as patron saints of the animal kingdom.
“Santa Paisano de Nuevo Mexico”
This Saint will be printed as a serigraph on wood for my exhibition at the NM Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in December. The serigraph will be offered as a limited edition of 6. If you are interested in this piece, please contact me at info@ColletteMarie.me.
